What does a C&F agent do?
A C&F agent holds a brand's stock in a state and sends it to the brand's buyers there. We store your stock and bill your distributors in your name. We also deliver each order and handle the returns. The stock stays yours all the way.
Is a C&F agent the same as a CFA?
Yes. C&F agent and CFA both mean carrying and forwarding agent. Some people also say clearing and forwarding. That usually means customs clearance at a port. Our own customs team handles that too.
How is a C&F agent different from a distributor or a super stockist?
A distributor or a super stockist buys your stock and resells it at a margin. A C&F agent never buys it. You keep the stock, the prices and the buyers. You pay us for the work.
Do I need a GST registration in Tamil Nadu?
Not always. If we bill in your name you need one. You add our warehouse to your Tamil Nadu GST registration or register there first. We give you the details you need. If we bill in our name as your consignment agent you do not need one.
Whose name goes on the invoices?
You choose. In the usual way we bill from your GST number at your prices. As your consignment agent we bill from our own GST number at the price you set. Each load has its e-way bill either way.
What is a consignment agent under GST?
A consignment agent holds your stock and sells it from its own GST number. Your sales then show in its GST returns. Under GST the stock you send it counts as a supply. So your plant bills it with GST even inside one state. The agent claims that GST back. The stock stays yours until it sells.
Is a stock transfer to our C&F in another state taxed?
Yes. Under GST your registrations in two states count as two separate businesses. So your plant bills the move on a tax invoice with GST. Your Tamil Nadu registration claims that GST back as input tax credit. Each load also needs an e-way bill.
How do you handle returns and damaged stock?
We check every return when it arrives. Good stock goes back on the shelf. We keep damaged and expired stock apart until you decide. We log each return for your credit note.

Yes. Our Chennai hub sends part truck loads to Tirupati, Puducherry, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai and Nellore. Full truck loads run to Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore.
Can our imports go straight into our C&F stock?
